This is something we’ve been discussing around our office since the height of last year’s drought here in the US South: Pine mortality in the year AFTER a drought.
It’s good to know that the Alabama Forestry Commission is on it. We and other private managers and landowners will be paying special attention to signs of distress and mortality in our pine stands. Time is always of the essence in reacting to such signs.
